IRC Sheriff Eric Flowers, left, and Wes Samons executive director of Mental Health Collaborative of IRC, discussed "How to Cope with Gun Violence" on October 21. About 25 people listened as Samons described the affect of gun violence on people and how to help loved ones cope with it. Sheriff Flowers provided statistics on gun violence in IRC and described how IRC Sheriff Department programs are helping identify possible perpetrators and prevent gun violence before it happens. Both answered numerous questions from the audience. Thanks to the IRC Sheriff's Department for use of their building and helping offer such a relevant, informative program to our community!
